It was joining the Tismana River through the succession of waterfalls called ''La Pișători'', located near the Stârmina Rock. In the 14th century, Saint Nicodim decided to build a monastery in the area of the waterfalls. The Tismana Monastery, whose church was completed in 1378, is the oldest monastery in Romania.
